Developed by the HK Science & Technology Parks Corporation, the Park focuses on four areas: electronics, biotechnology, precision engineering and IT/telecommunications. The Park consists of 3 phases. Phase 1, funded by the HKSAR Government for about US$423 million, came into operation in 2002, while Phases 2 & 3 are scheduled to be completed in 2006 and 2009 respectively.

Cyberport is an IT flagship project developed by the Government of the HKSAR to create a cluster of IT companies and professional talent in IT applications, information services and multimedia content creation. Cyberport comprises Grade A intelligent offices with around 100,000 sqm space, a 27,000 sqm retail and entertainment centre, The Arcade, a 5-star LE MERIDIEN Cyberport hotel, and a high quality residential development and recreational facilities, supported by state-of-the-art IT/telecom infrastructure.
