  • Established in 1979
  • Expanded from a 80-seat small canteen to a 350-seat two-storey restaurant in 30 years
  • Operating as a multiple food outlet in Chinatown, with other side businesses including Emperor’s Garden Cake & Bakery; Emperor’s Garden BBQ & Noodle Restaurant; Emperor’s Garden Meat Market and also the Emperor’s Garden Soya Bean Products
  • Market foci were both Chinese and Australian Caucasians

Business activities in/through HK:

  • Imported skills and labour; food like dried oyster and shark fin; packaging material; kitchenware and staff uniforms from Hong Kong

  • An accounting firm with expertise in taxation and consultancy
  • It is a self-owned company
  • The founder had over 10 year of accounting experience in Hong Kong and China
  • Customers included companies from New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and China

 

Business activities in/through HK:

  • Assisted New Zealand and Australian businesses, particularly in the consulting areas to establish their Hong Kong base for their pan-Asian expansion
  • Supported New Zealand exporters to link Singapore into their existing Hong Kong businesses
  • Helped New Zealand exporters to utilise the HK/PRC CEPA agreement to overcome the need to obtain separate licence registration in Hong Kong
  • Set up trading houses in Hong Kong for various import / export entities

  • Established in 1979
  • An international accounting and consulting firm providing related services to companies interested in business expansion to China, Hong Kong and Singapore
  • Employed over 100 certified public accountants, legal and professional consultants, who were working in ten mainland / international offices located in Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Singapore and Tianjin
  • Client base included small-to-medium sized privately owned companies and multinational corporations
  • English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Japanese could be communicated across its International Desks

Business activities in/through HK:

  • Services provided to the German companies included Market Entry Consulting, Incorporation, Corporate Compliance, Accounting & Administration, Tax Advisory, Audit & Assurance, Trade & Supply Chain and Recruitment

Omsk Manufacturing Association (Telecommunications & Manufacturing)
Russia – Hong Kong Business Association

Company profile:

  • One of the largest developers and producers of multi-directional mobile resistant communications and control systems in Russia
  • Specialised in supplying modern communications and control systems for special and general technical purposes

Business activities in/through HK:

  • In 2010, Omsk Manufacturing Association developed a special digital 6-generation system for data processing and transfer in extreme climates. The system was provided for participants of the International Antarctic Mission to test and use in the project of “Elysium Shackleton’s Antarctic Visual Epic”
  • One of the participants and main sponsors of the Mission was Chairman of CTI, which was one of the largest broadband internet providers in Hong Kong. It provided residential and corporate network for international telecommunications services. CTI later became a partner of Omsk Manufacturing Association
  • The Omsk Manufacturing Association presented its new technological products at the World SME Expo in Hong Kong in 2010
  • An agreement that worth USD30 million was discussed between Omsk and a pool of Hong Kong investors, with a goal of developing a new digital system

Peach of Mind Threat Management Company Ltd (Threat Assessment & Management)
Finland Hong Kong Trade Association

Company profile:

  • Services ranged from security audits, contingency planning, risk- and crisis management scenarios, due diligence investigations to the assessment of hostile behavior and threat management
  • Founded in 1998 in Finland
  • Handled over 800 assignments and serviced over 300 clients on six continents in the previous fiscal year. More active Asian clients included those from Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur 
  • Expanded to Asia and set up a company in Hong Kong in the summer of 2010, with one Hong Kong based staff

Business activities in/through HK:

  • Service targets included Northern European companies currently operating or were planning to operate in the Asian region, as well as Chinese and other Asian companies looking for business opportunities in Europe
  • Reasons choosing Hong Kong as the regional office in Asia included: (1) Hong Kong is cosmopolitan and with great acceptance to western business and culture; (2) Existence of supportive local business community and chambers; (3) Procedures of setting up an office were simple and straight-forward, thus saving a great deal of time and administrative costs; (4) English was commonly used so there was no language or communication barrier; (5) Hong Kong is energetic and dynamic, with a lot of networking opportunities happening around
  • The company was now a member in the Finnish Chamber, Swedish Chamber and Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce
  • Clients’ response towards the Hong Kong regional office was very positive because of the efficiency of Hong Kong staff
  • Hong Kong was ideally located so travel to some of its business destinations like Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur was highly convenient. The frequent visitor program of Hong Kong International Airport deserved recognitions
